Synopsis

Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private detective’s call and becomes the mole in an undercover investigation of a nursing home. Based on the Chilean documentary “El Agente Topo”. A remake of the film The Secret Agent (2020). I’m not a big watcher, but we devoured the entire season on the first night. It has the right mix of warm, funny, sad and deep with a storyline that keeps you hooked. Ted Danson is great of course, but Stephanie Beatriz (Diaz in ’99) is awesome and her character is someone you want to spend all your time with. It’s set in San Francisco, which of course helps my rating, but most of all, while it’s very sad at times, it’s a comedy and gives hope for the future as we all get older. A solid eight out of ten for me, one for all ages and who knows, hopefully a second season.
