Synopsis

Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, makes a move to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about getting into character during the production of “The Penguin.” Colin Farrell fought hard to have his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in The Batman (2022), but it was unsuccessful. For his own series, however, the character is portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, with a preference for cigars. An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros.

I was very skeptical going in

logo. Featured in Graham Norton I liked: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). I HAD to go back and edit my review as soon as I finished the last episode. this is DC and I’ve gotten used to their decade long mediocrity.

I have to say, I was impressed with this series

From the writers to the actors to the on-set production. For those of us who are used to Marvel’s method of storytelling, this is refreshingly different. No antiheroes that leave you partially conflicted at the end, just a straight-up villain. It’s been a minute since we’ve had anything like this, but this series really nails it.

This isn’t a superhero sequel

This is a gritty, violent crime drama. This is storytelling at its best! Thank you DC for this series. Please don’t use it as a “DC” like you would use DC’s Joker 2.
